Cookie notice
Last updated 11 September 2026
We use two things that set cookies: Google Analytics, to see which pages people find useful, and Microsoft Clarity, to see where people get stuck.
That is the whole story. No advertising cookies, no visitor-identification tools, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that tries to work out who you are personally.
Google Analytics
Tells us which pages get read, which are ignored, where visitors arrive from and roughly where in the world they are. It sets the following cookies:
- _ga — distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not double counted. Expires after 2 years
- _ga_ followed by our property ID — keeps session state. Expires after 2 years
Microsoft Clarity
Shows us how pages are actually used: where people scroll, what they click, and where they give up. It does this by recording page interactions, which can be played back as a session replay, and by aggregating clicks into heatmaps.
Being direct about what that means: your mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages you move between are recorded. Text you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser, so we do not see what you entered.
It sets the following cookies:
- _clck — links the session to a Clarity user ID. Expires after 1 year
- _clsk — groups page views into one session. Expires after 1 day
- Microsoft may also set cookies on its own clarity.ms domain, covered by Microsoft's privacy statement rather than ours
What we do with it
We look at aggregate patterns: which pages get read, which are ignored, and where a page confuses people enough that they leave. It tells us what to fix.
We do not use either tool to build advertising audiences, we do not run remarketing, and we do not link them to the enquiry form. If you fill in the form, that submission is handled separately and is described in our privacy notice.
How to opt out
Both tools can be turned off from your own browser, and that choice then applies to every site you visit rather than just this one:
- Block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings. Most browsers allow this per site
- Install Google's official Analytics opt-out add-on, which stops Google Analytics everywhere
- Turn on your browser's tracking protection. Firefox, Safari and Brave block both of these tools under their default settings
- Use a private or incognito window, where cookies are discarded when you close it
What we do not do
Worth being specific, because these are the usual sources of tracking on a site:
- No advertising pixels. No Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no Google Ads remarketing tag
- No visitor-identification or de-anonymisation tools. We do not use services that try to work out which company or person is behind a visit so we can approach you
- No tag manager, so no third party can add tracking to this site without a code change
- No embedded videos, maps, chat widgets or social feeds. The homepage video is a file on our own domain, not a YouTube embed
Fonts
Worth mentioning because it is a common gap. Many sites load fonts from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google on every page view. Ours are served from our own domain, so that request never happens.
Links out
Following a link to another site takes you outside our control. Those sites have their own cookies and their own notice, and we cannot speak for them.
If this changes
If we add another technology that stores data on your device, we will update this page before it goes live. We will not add tracking quietly and update the small print afterwards.
